In large-scale chemical plants, apart from online analysis of conductivity and pH value, all other analyses are done offline, which results in a large amount of work. Currently, environmental regulations are very strict; one company has installed an online system for continuous monitoring of wastewater, with the main parameters being COD and pH. Online continuous monitoring is primarily used for liquid phases, and it plays a significant role in the field of environmental protection. As far as I know, there have been many large-scale coal chemical plants put into operation in recent years, and whether it’s the Shell or Texaco processes, the water treatment systems required are more complex and handle larger volumes of wastewater compared to those used in natural gas processing. Online monitoring of wastewater treatment will become **mandatory in the near future; this is the general trend. In chemical production, safety is always given top priority. The probe used for online monitoring is placed in clean water, and the levels definitely do not exceed the limits; in the past, there was too much wastewater, so it was discharged illegally in this way. In fact, as long as the wastewater treatment facilities are in place and the factory does not discharge large amounts of waste, the wastewater can definitely be treated. I remember the process flow is to adjust the pH value first, remove heavy metals, then proceed to the microbial tank, followed by the sedimentation tank and the sludge hanging machine, and finally filtration. Follow the operating procedures step by step; the COD level should not exceed 100. Is 100 the current standard?
