Does anyone know the relevant specifications for settlement tests of fiberglass storage tanks? Are they the same as those for settlement tests of steel storage tanks? Thank you so much!
There are no detailed standards for the settlement test of fiberglass-reinforced plastic tanks. My understanding is that the settlement test for fiberglass-reinforced plastic tank foundations is intended to verify the bearing capacity of the foundations and determine whether they meet the design requirements. As long as the base tilt isn’t too large, there should be no problem. If cracks appear in the foundation under full load, caution is necessary to avoid damage to the fiberglass tank bottom.
