What is the allowable deviation for the verticality of the guide posts when installing a 40,000 cubic meter external floating roof storage tank? Height of guide post: 23m
It should be no more than 10mm.
10mm refers to the lack of straightness in the manufacturing of the guide post itself; it does not seem to be the allowable error for vertical alignment during installation.
Is the requirement in API650 for welded steel oil storage tanks specified in H.4.5 as follows: The attachments that pass through the floating roof, such as supports, ladders, and other rigid vertical components that go through the floating deck, must have a seal; this seal allows a local deviation of ±125 mm (±5 in). The verticality tolerance for the attachment is ±75mm (±3 in).
Can there be such a large tolerance? What do domestic regulations require?
