At present, the raw material distribution area uses a test diaphragm metering pump – the raw material is a flammable liquid with a flash point in Category 3.2 and high viscosity; the pump’s manufacturer did not provide an explosion-proof motor, so our company’s equipment design engineers carried out the modifications, installation, and operation on their own. Explosion-proof mud is also used inside the equipment, but I’m not sure what the actual effect of it is. Pumps are used in highly hazardous areas, and the equipment is employed directly in production – it’s quite incredible!
For explosion-proof electrical equipment, it’s not only the junction boxes that need to be explosion-proof; there are also requirements regarding the temperature on the surface of the motors. Therefore, electrical equipment in explosion-proof areas generally does not meet the regulatory requirements through its own modification. It is recommended that companies not try to save money in this area; they should purchase explosion-proof electrical equipment as required by regulations, and ensure it is installed in accordance with those same regulations in order to meet the explosion-proof requirements.
Last month, a plunger pump was used for the tests, and the motor associated with it was explosion-proof. However, the diaphragm pump provided by the supplier this month isn’t explosion-proof. If the test results are good, the supplier will definitely provide an explosion-proof version when it comes to large-scale use – they certainly won’t skimp on the cost for that. But the problem is that the one being used now was modified on its own to see how it would perform
It’s not possible to modify an explosion-proof motor by oneself, as it won’t meet the required standards. It’s better to purchase a new explosion-proof motor – after all, safety comes first.
Any anti-riot equipment must be designed and manufactured by professional manufacturers that hold explosion-proof certification; no entity is allowed to modify explosion-proof electrical equipment without authorization, as clearly stipulated by the laws on work safety.
Self-modified explosion-proof equipment does not meet the required standards, not even when used on a trial basis. Safety is no trivial matter, and one should not rely on luck

The equipment modified by themselves does not meet the explosion-proof standards, and the company itself does not have the qualifications to carry out explosion-proof modifications. In explosion-proof areas, qualified explosion-proof equipment must be used.
