The difference between trays and plate towers

I don’t understand the difference between a tower tray and a plate; does my colleague’s statement that a tower tray includes the plates being correct?
It can be said that, taking an overflow tray as an example, a tray consists of gas-liquid contact elements such as floating valves and bubble caps, the tray itself, downcomers, liquid collection trays, and overflow weirs.
The tray can also be referred to as a tower tray plate; multiple trays are combined to form a tower tray, which also includes other related components mentioned earlier.
The tray should be part of the plate; multiple trays combine to form one plate, and the plate also includes other various components.
