The Shell gasification furnace has been in operation for several years since it was put into use in 2006, and dozens of facilities have adopted Shell’s technology. There were previous discussions on this topic, but no new posts have appeared recently; it’s unclear what the current operating conditions are like. I’m posting this thread hoping that everyone will discuss it.
As far as I know, things have not been very smooth in the field of coal chemical industry.
The long cycle still cannot be achieved; at most it’s a little over 100 days
SHELL’s technology requires some improvements in certain aspects in order to extend operational time
The control is good, but it has not yet been operated for long periods; equipment corrosion is severe over time
The Hubei Fertilizer Factory is operating well!
To maintain production levels, the equipment is not protected; corrosion and deformation of the equipment are severe
Foreign products often struggle to adapt when they enter China, and smart Chinese people are needed to optimize them
The slag discharge in the shell gasification furnace has not been very good, which causes the pressure inside the furnace to rise sharply; as a result, the furnace cannot operate for long periods of time. It seems to be a flaw from the initial design, and I wonder whether intelligent Chinese engineers can find a way to improve it
