I feel that process design is extremely demanding, and it seems that one can’t earn much money unless working at a really top-notch design firm. From what I know, experienced designers earn only around 100,000 per year in smaller design firms; it’s very difficult to get into top companies, and it seems hard to earn more than that. Maybe I don’t understand it deeply enough. Have been hesitating about whether to enter this field? What do you all think?
Working in design can be quite demanding, but working in process design allows one to acquire a lot of knowledge and to interact with many people from various companies. Over time, as more experience is gained, one can learn about the production processes of many chemical products. If one also understands the market, it becomes possible to start one’s own business. Several of the successful business owners here were originally from design firms who later started their own businesses and succeeded.
Process design is the cornerstone of chemical engineering design; it is also the foundation, the source of everything. Do you think there’s a future in it? Design serves as a link that provides a comprehensive understanding among the owner, technicians, and patent holders. Do you think there are good business prospects?
Agree with what was said above. Anyone can succeed; with good performance, there are bright prospects for making money. Management may have a promising future, but it’s not suitable for everyone. Earning that extra money is such a hassle.
Anyone in that group can become the best; it depends on each individual’s fate. Not everyone can obtain the true teachings, nor can everyone become a boss, but an attitude towards life is very important.
Being tired is because of the heavy workload and many things to consider, but in this way, one can learn a lot of things
Working in process engineering is very exhausting, and the salary is lower than that in other fields. But since the managers all come from the process engineering field, there’s at least that as a source of hope
In generally more reputable design institutes or engineering companies, the compensation for process designers is quite good. It is recommended to go to Shanghai; engineering companies there usually offer an annual salary of no less than 100,000 yuan.
