I purchased a undercurrent filter press to filter odorous liquids. After filtration, the liquid needs to be transferred to a storage tank. Due to the conditions of the old factory building, the location of the filter press is lower than that of the storage tank; as a result, the filtered liquid cannot flow from the undercurrent pipes into the storage tank. Instead, it flows over the filter press’s surface and into collection troughs, where it gathers in the floor tanks. This results in strong odors during operation. Is there any way to solve this problem? Can adding a pump between the filter press and the storage tank to create suction help the liquid to flow out of the hidden flow pipes, thereby reducing odors? Thank you so much
Reply to 1# memory1980: Adding a pipeline centrifugal pump at the liquid outlet will suffice
The power should be slightly higher than that of the liquid feed pump, right?

You can combine the four undercurrent holes into one pipe and add a pump. It’s not necessary to install a pump in every pipeline. If there’s a strong odor, put a plastic cover over the filter press; also, install a vacuum extractor!
OP, does Haiyou’s method work? Show us the final solution
The plastic cover doesn’t seal well, and moreover, operations are required, including flipping the cake. I also suggest using a pump for suction~
If the tank height is not high, the mother fluid can be directly pumped over. No pump is needed.
The undercurrent pipes converge into a small storage tank with a volume of around 1.5 cubic meters, after which a pump is used to transfer the fluid. Full sealing can **reduce odors, but some smell will still be present. Installing a wind shield on the filter press isn’t very effective, as people need to climb up in order to remove the filter cake, and if the wind shield is placed too high, it cannot capture the odors. I don’t know if the problem with Haiyou has been resolved.
