If everything goes well, the company will receive a permit similar to a \"production license\" from the province next month, and at that time the methanol gasoline developed by the company will be able to be produced in bulk and brought to the Taizhou market. Located in the Medical and Chemical Industry Park of Duqiao Town by the sea, this company has built a facility with an annual production capacity of 200,000 tons of methanol gasoline, making it the largest new energy production base in Zhejiang Province at present. Hu Weizhong said that the company is currently developing the M30 and M50 series (M stands for Methanol). Depending on the different proportions of methanol added to finished gasoline, methanol gasoline can be classified into types such as M15, M30, M50, and M85. According to the company’s tests, methanol gasoline performs similarly to regular gasoline in terms of power and fuel consumption, but it offers significant benefits in terms of energy savings and reduced consumption. Compared to regular gasoline, M50 of the same grade reduces CO emissions by over 90% and HC compound emissions by over 80%. “Any car that runs on gasoline can use methanol gasoline. ”Hu Weizhong said that, based on markets such as Huzhou where M15 has already been sold, the price of methanol gasoline is slightly lower than that of regular gasoline. The reporter learned from the city’s traffic management office that, as of now, the city’s vehicle fleet has reached 500,000 vehicles. Assuming that each vehicle consumes an average of 1 ton of fuel per year, 200,000 tons of methanol gasoline would be sufficient to meet the fuel needs of 40% of the city’s vehicles. After conversion, this is roughly equivalent to the environmental protection benefits of 20,000 acres of forest. Zhejiang is one of the first provinces in the country to introduce methanol gasoline. Hu Weizhong said that once M30 and M50 are put into production, they will be available at all gas stations across the city. By then, our city will also become the first in the province to adopt M30 and M50.
