This is quite simple: the cooling water used for water production is usually recycled water. As the temperature rises, the solubility of calcium and magnesium ions in this recycled water decreases (there is an intermediate value at 60 degrees). As a result, these magnesium ions precipitate out and form scale in the form of carbonates on the walls of the heat exchanger, which leads to poor heat exchange efficiency.
Personally, I think it is due, on the one hand, to the increase in temperature, which makes calcium and magnesium ions prone to precipitation. On the one hand, this is because if the temperature of the cooling water becomes too high after heat exchange, it returns to the circulating water station before it has had time to cool down to its temperature before the heat exchange process, and then it goes on to cool another medium. As a result, the temperature of the circulating cooling water in the system keeps rising, and ultimately the cooling effect is not achieved. If you want to cool the 60-degree cooling water back to its previous temperature, energy consumption will inevitably increase.
