After the project is completed, it is necessary to measure the volume of work involved. It’s easier to handle non-standard volumes of work, as these can be determined based on the blueprints or on-site measurements. But how should the area required for anti-corrosion treatment be measured? For example, in the case of painting steel structures, should the area be calculated by estimating it based on non-standard methods, or should it be measured on-site and then the area calculated accordingly? Does anyone have any good suggestions? If a quota is to be used, which one should be applied?
We conduct our settlements based on on-site measurements. I wonder if there’s a better way.
In fact, it would be best if the installation and civil engineering teams could provide actual data, so that calculations can be carried out according to the established rules. In practice, on-site measurements are required to estimate the appropriate specification, after which data is consulted and calculations are performed.
This is indeed difficult to calculate; we usually make an approximate measurement and then multiply it by a coefficient (based on the difficulty of the task). It is best to know the amount of steel used and then calculate based on a certain settlement coefficient.
All quantities of work must be calculated based on actual measurements. The anti-corrosion area is one aspect; the thickness must also meet the required standards, otherwise it is meaningless.
