I had time today to go to another manufacturer and check out the methanol-poor methanol pump. The methanol-poor motors in our factory are water-cooled and do not have an oil station. What can be seen from the outside is that the motor drives a fan to cool things down with air, and it also has its own oil circulation system. It seems that the costs for our factory would definitely be lower, but it also seems that other companies’ options are more reasonable. Could experts help provide an answer? What are the respective advantages and disadvantages?
In short, whether to use an oil station for cooling depends on the power of your motor; the threshold is around 1000 KW. However, some manufacturers now take the risk of using water cooling for motors with a power level above 1000 KW. High power levels, heavy loads, and high temperatures require separate oil station cooling. Ordinary methanol-poor pumps do not need oil cooling, as they have more failure points and are also very costly.
