The inlet guide vane of the chlorine compressor is adjusted according to the pressure in the inlet pipeline; it closes automatically when the pressure in the pipeline is low, and it also closes automatically when the pressure is high. It is related to anti-surge.

Reply to 3# szt001: I remember someone on the forum explaining it like this: Common liquid ring pumps control the inlet pressure of the unit and changes in system load through a reflux system, while turbines control the amount of air intake by using guide vanes (controlling pressure through flow rate), thereby enabling the unit to perform useful work continuously and saving electricity. The guide vane is a fan-like baffle installed in front of the first-stage impeller at the air inlet, capable of adjusting its angle with respect to the axis. There are positive and negative angles, which allow for blocking air intake as well as increasing control over the amount of air intake. When the positive angle is large, it prevents the flow of air; when the negative angle is large, this blocking effect disappears. When starting the turbine, it is required that the surge valve be fully open while the guide vanes are fully closed; this ensures that surging does not occur during startup, while also allowing for the lowest possible flow rate and startup at low load, in line with the startup method for centrifugal pumps.
