Dear seniors, we are in the trial operation phase; when the reduction furnace experiences high-voltage breakdown, arcing occurs between the electrodes and the lower surface of the furnace’s chassis. And it’s quite common. The way we achieve breakdown is through high-voltage breakdown, with a breakdown voltage set at 12,000 volts; one pair of silicon cores is broken down each time. The length of the silicon core is now 2.2 meters. Moreover, generally no arcing occurs during the first two breakdowns, but arcing appears during subsequent breakdowns. The reduction furnace’s insulation from the ground is not good. . . It is necessary to work on improving the insulation from the ground.
The high-voltage setting voltage is too high; if the insulation is not of sufficient quality, arcing can occur due to the sudden high voltage. Additionally, it’s very important that the chassis be clean and dry. In my opinion, the main issue is the excessively high voltage
Is it because the insulation such as the PTFE sleeve isn’t good enough? All newly installed PTFE sleeves must undergo high-pressure resistance testing

Personally, I think the voltage setting is too high, and the chassis electrodes weren’t cleaned properly.
