Hello everyone. May I ask what types of flowmeters are suitable for DCS operation, and what are their respective advantages and disadvantages? Thank you very much.
There are many types of flowmeters that can be connected to a DCS; any flowmeter with a flow transmission function can be integrated into a DCS, such as metal tube flowmeters, orifice plate differential pressure flowmeters, vortex flowmeters, electromagnetic flowmeters, etc. The person asking the question might want to read some books on these instruments first before delving deeper into the topic.
Reply to 1# Thatched Cottage: The DCS cannot perform any operations on the flow meter; it can only receive signals sent by the flow meter. Generally, any flow meter with remote transmission functionality will work.
As long as the flow meter can communicate with the DCS, it is possible to operate the flow meter using the DCS; for example, HONEYWELL’s differential pressure flow meters can be operated using HONEYWELL’s DCS
Those with a transmitter function and capable of outputting signals will do. As for whether they are of good quality or not, that’s not clear. I would appreciate some guidance from those who know more
