Our company experienced a boiler dry-fire accident a couple of days ago. The company has required each person on the synthetic ammonia team to prepare an accident response plan specific to the boiler located inside the synthesis tower. These plans should include signs that indicate an impending accident (such as a sudden rise in the boiler’s outlet temperature) as well as the procedures to take in such situations. Please offer your guidance! By the way, the boiler in my position is located between the ammonia synthesis tower and the exchanger outside the tower!
In ordinary waste heat boilers, hydrometers are installed in both the downcomer (the water inlet to the waste heat boiler) and the upcomer (the water outlet from the waste heat boiler); by observing changes in specific gravity, it is possible to detect certain issues. I’m not sure if such devices are available in your boilers.
Reply to 2# Jiangjiang: Hello, it’s possible that you’re referring to a different device from what I’m talking about. Our central boiler doesn’t have the steam drum you mentioned, but thank you anyway
A low liquid level alarm device can be installed.
Reply to 4# Chemical gas purification: This has also been taken into account; the main concern is what to do if the liquid level indication is inaccurate
Reply to 5# xuyanhui198610: We have a field level gauge and a sensor-based level gauge; it’s impossible for both of them to fail at the same time.
Reply to 6# Chemical gas purification: We also have two of them. The one on site has already broken, and we’re worried that the smart transmitter might give inaccurate readings
Reply to 7# xuyanhui198610: Fix the situation on site as soon as possible; we can’t just sit around doing nothing.
If the export heat load remains constant during synthesis, and the feedwater control valve is in automatic mode, its opening gradually increases. An increase in the feedwater volume indicates an increase in evaporation volume, which warrants attention. This indicates that the liquid level in the waste pot is dropping or is already very low.
The feed water automatic control valve will open to 100%
It is possible to set up three tanks, and then have a interlock that triggers when two of them reach low liquid levels; in fact, high liquid levels can also be dangerous. Last time, we encountered a situation where high liquid levels caused liquid to enter the steam pipes, resulting in severe air hammering – it was a really **serious situation.
