Which senior colleague knows what a flow-through urea synthesis tower is? Is it really as advertised? I would appreciate your guidance.
Radial-flow urea synthesis tower: In my opinion, its performance is primarily determined by the structure of the trays; the conventional design is axial-flow type. Manufacturers have now developed radial-flow trays that reduce backmixing, with fairly good results – the conversion rate can increase by more than 2%.
After reviewing the relevant information, it mainly involves the use of aqueous solutions and ammonia stripping; if the conversion rate is low to begin with, making changes might yield good results. But assuming it has been changed to an efficient tray, such as the inverted U-shaped Casle tray, is there still a 2% increase?
It’s unlikely to increase by 2%; what is the theoretical equilibrium conversion rate?

Based on the promotional materials, the design of the tray is relatively simple; however, hydraulic analysis of the urea synthesis tower reveals some unreasonable aspects.
