How does this institution compare to the Northwest Research Institute of Chemical Technology? For future prospects, is it better to pursue a career in design? Is research better? Thank you all
Considering life pressures, I choose the latter. Escape from Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou.
In 2010, Beijing Petroleum and Chemical Design Institute was acquired by Yanchang Petroleum. An HR representative from them came to our school and said that, based on the current number of projects, it would be impossible to complete them all within the next ten years; last year, they even purchased a building in Chaoyang District. There’s definitely money available, but I feel their management is a bit chaotic; fresh graduates have to sign a contract for 6 years and have to pay a deposit of 3,000 first.

I agree with what was said above; first, it’s important to be clear about one’s interests in terms of the type of work one wants to do. There is a significant difference between design and research – one focuses on practice, while the other focuses on theory. After joining Yanchang Petroleum, this company should still have quite a lot of potential.
