Let’s all share what kind of laptop configurations we use

My company is going to provide me with a business laptop; I mainly use it to run engineering software (such as ProII) as well as for business purposes. Could everyone give me some suggestions on what model of laptop would be suitable? The boss is usually quite stingy; a price range of 6,000–8,000 should be sufficient. A 14-inch screen is required, as that represents the highest configuration available at this price point.
I also have doubts in this regard – why hasn’t anyone answered it? Which one requires higher configuration, this software or Aspen?
Aspen requires relatively higher specifications; a standard configuration for Pro2 is sufficient
T6500, 2GB of RAM; I installed version 8.3, and it works fine
For pro/ii, an ordinary computer configuration is sufficient; you can get a decent model at this price point these days. Give the HP 5310 a try – I’m using one myself. It’s quite lightweight for business use, and you’ll realize its advantages during long business trips, haha. One drawback is that a separate VGA conversion adapter is required; otherwise, projection is not possible.

Reply to 6# supperstone001: Sure, haha. But it’s necessary to change their built-in WEN7 system to XP; PRO/ii under WEN7 is extremely frustrating to use – it’s really not user-friendly at all!
A regular dual-core computer will work fine... 1GB of RAM is sufficient

The THINK-PAD i5 is quite suitable at the moment
