In cobalt-nickel metallurgy, after repeated use of P507, some flocculent substances are formed within the extraction tank; these flocculants float in the aqueous phase and are located at the interface between the aqueous phase and the organic phase. May I ask: what are these flocculent substances? How was it created? How should it be handled?
It is the third phase, caused by impurities in the liquid material; an excessive amount of these impurities can lead to the emulsification of the organic phase. It is recommended to carry out in-depth treatment of the liquid mixture, but if it generally does not affect production, it can be ignored. Since the third phase is difficult to avoid, you can isolate it and saponify it with sodium hydroxide. It can prevent waste of the organic phase.

This is quite difficult; it has occurred in production and is hard to handle. It involves frequent cleaning of the extraction tank.
Our method is to remove them and wash them with high-concentration sulfuric acid. Does using NaOH for saponification work? I have to give it a try.

Just like 204, it needs to be taken out for cleaning after being used for a certain period of time; using active clay to absorb and filter out the organic substances should resolve the issue
