There are two sand holes in the elbow of a DN150 pipe; could anyone suggest some methods for sealing the leak while the pipeline is still under pressure?
Wrap one or half a box with a larger elbow! I’m not sure if it will work I just thought it might be possible, but I’ve never done it!
Find a steel wire that is slightly thicker than that used for trachoma treatment, cut it to be longer than the wall thickness of the tube, and then gently push it into the trachoma site. Flatten the grown-out portion. I’m not sure if it will work. Sometimes we seal leaks in our steam pipes in this way while they are still under pressure.

It depends on the process medium, working environment, and the impact of stopping on the entire system; if it cannot be blocked, then stop the operation to replace it.
If it’s for temporary material handling, why not consider using clips?
1. First, rivet it using wire or iron wire to see if it holds; simultaneously, check the degree of thinning of the pipeline (if it’s too thin, it cannot be used for pressure sealing). 2. Elbows and tees can also be sealed while under pressure; it’s just a bit more difficult to create the clamps. We have done this before, and the results have been good. The large elbow is cut in half, connection plates are welded to both sides, and steel plates are welded at each end; then a drill is used to create holes of the same diameter as those in the pipeline. 3. Suppress leaks; sealing measures should not be weakened – be cautious with hazardous pipelines.
For a temporary fix, you can do this: 1. Sharpen one end of the chopstick; insert the sharp end into the crack while keeping the thicker end outside, then hammer it in firmly. 2. Using plastic putty also works very well
First, consider the process medium and working environment; perform pipeline thickness measurement. If the thickness is within acceptable limits, install steel strips and then enclose it in a box.
