Ugh, better not even talk about it… When I first arrived, I even came up with some reasonable suggestions regarding this issue… but I was criticized for them. Now I think about it – it’s just a few pennies’ worth of stuff, thrown away in landfills!
Reply to wolfcat: It depends on what kind of catalyst it is; if it’s a cobalt-molybdenum or copper-based catalyst, it would be a shame to throw it away. I wonder where you on the 2nd floor threw your catalysts; I’m here to collect them, as it’s good for the environment and helps with sustainability.

Exhaust hydrogenation catalysts, containing cobalt and molybdenum, are collected by specialized companies, usually through auctions. Sulfur catalysts are buried in industrial landfills.
Those that are truly valuable are well known; they won’t be wasted!
Cobalt-molybdenum catalysts and copper-based catalysts are very expensive; catalyst manufacturers specialize in recycling them. Iron-based catalysts are now also recycled by catalyst manufacturers. It’s best to sell used catalysts to these manufacturers – it’s environmentally friendly and can also generate value; at the very least, it can help those who spent money on catalysts to afford a few meals! Ceramic balls don’t seem to be recycled; they are generally discarded!

These are all recycled; they’re very expensive!
