Administrators are busy and unlikely to go through the hassle of changing members’ names; if members were allowed to change their names at will, it would lead to chaos in their personal information, which would hinder the management of the forum. The problem is that many members don’t give much thought to their usernames when they first register on the forum. Later, they become dissatisfied with their chosen usernames; for instance, English-alphabet-based names aren’t very good—they’re less intuitive and harder to remember compared to Chinese names, and so on. Therefore, it is suggested to allow members to change their names, but only to a limited extent. Would it be feasible to control such name changes by requiring members to spend a certain amount of wealth? If one changes their member name once, would it cost 500 Charm or 5,000 Wealth? Is that acceptable? It is estimated that most members who wish to change their names are those with high scores, while members with low scores generally do not consider changing their names. This way, there is no chaos caused by a large number of members changing their names, and at the same time, it allows for the consumption of points held by high-scoring members. The loss of points by these members encourages them to be more active in participating in the forum in the future, which is beneficial for the development of the forum.
