I would like to ask some experts in production technology: what are the operating temperature and inlet temperature for this catalyst when it is used in production? How high is the temperature rise? What is the range of system pressure? What is the space velocity of ethylene glycol? Product distribution and the selectivity for glyoxal? Is there moisture present in the reaction materials, and what is the range of the oxygen/alcohol ratio? The price of the catalyst? Methods for catalyst regeneration, etc. What other industrial catalysts are currently available for the oxidation of ethylene glycol to glyoxal? Production process: Ethylene glycol is first heated to 190–200 degrees to cause it to vaporize. After vaporization, it is mixed with steam, preheated air, and nitrogen. In the presence of a silver catalyst, the mixture is heated to around 500 degrees. The space velocity of ethylene glycol is 0.02–0.006 m/s, the oxygen/alcohol ratio is 0.8–2:1, and the alcohol-to-water ratio is 1:1–2. The ethylene glycol conversion rate is 98.5–99.9%, with a selectivity for glyoxal of 80–86%.
