Signing of Yuanping 2 million-ton coke and coal chemical project

Recently, the People’s Government of Yuanping City in Shanxi Province held a signing ceremony for a 2 million-ton coking and coal chemical industry project with Shanxi Yufeng Energy Investment Co., Ltd. The project plans to invest over 5 billion yuan to build a coking and coal chemical plant with an annual production capacity of 2 million tons in the Guoyang Circular Economy Industrial Park in Yuanping City. It is planned to integrate the existing 400,000-ton coking capacity of Shanxi Yunma Coking Co., Ltd. with the 600,000-ton coking capacity that has not yet been developed at the Shibaogou Coal Mine in Yuanping City, thereby achieving a total coking production capacity of 2 million tons. This will further enable the development of a coal chemical industry complex that includes 150,000 tons of tar processing, 26,000 tons of crude benzene refining, 50,000 tons of maleic anhydride, 50,000 tons of 1,4-butanediol, as well as 200,000 tons of methanol produced from 420 million cubic meters of coke oven gas, along with 15 tons of dimethyl ether. The project is scheduled to take three years to complete; once it is fully operational, it is expected to generate sales revenue of 8 billion yuan and tax payments of 1 billion yuan, while also creating employment for over 3,000 people. Efforts will be made to complete the preliminary preparatory work such as planning and design, environmental impact assessment, energy efficiency evaluations, and safety reviews within four months, with construction to commence in full in May. Strive to have 2 million tons of coke and all 6 extended chemical production recycling projects come online and become operational by the end of 2013.

Things are tough right now; there is a severe overcapacity in the coking industry in our country. How can new projects be approved? How can other companies survive? C
They won’t approve coke enterprises, right? Either those coking plants claim to be losing money, but are actually making a profit. It’s for tax evasion, right!
