Pressure fluctuations in the backflow valve p5551b of the hydrogen pump cause pressure fluctuations in p226, which in turn lead to fluctuations in the hydrogen-chlorine pressure difference at the head of the polarization tank. Could the original poster be more detailed? Is automatic control applied to the large-scale backflow of hydrogen? Is automatic control also used for the pneumatic valve that controls the backflow of the hydrogen pump? When the pressure behind the pump remains stable, does the pressure in the main hydrogen pipeline fluctuate? Generally, the hydrogen pressure follows that of chlorine; have you confirmed that there are no fluctuations in the chlorine pressure?
Chlorine remains stable at 216, and 5311B is also stable. We now suspect that there is water accumulation in the pipeline ranging from 226 to 5551B due to the rapid cooling of hydrogen in cold weather; we’re not sure if this is correct.
There is a possibility of water accumulation, but it’s not likely; generally, there should be automatic drainage systems along the path of the hydrogen gas! It is recommended to check whether the instrument air pressure is fluctuating.
If water accumulation is suspected, you can check the trend of hydrogen pressure; in pipes with water accumulation, the pressure fluctuations take on a regular wave-like pattern. You can set both 216 and 226 to manual control, and pay close attention to changes in pressure and pressure difference! Switch to automatic mode after the pressure difference stabilizes.
After draining the water from several drainage points on the hydrogen pipeline in the chlorohydrogen treatment section, the fluctuations improved. The fluctuation pattern is to fluctuate regularly for a few minutes and then again for a few minutes after 10 minutes pass. The instrument’s conclusion is that hydrogen has a low density, and fluctuations in pressure stabilization by the automatic control valve are inevitable. There’s another possibility: today it was noticed that the 216 display is a bit delayed, and the problem persisted even after replacing it with a new transmitter – it’s really frustrating.
Check whether the drainage from the hydrogen water seal is functioning properly; in our plant, there have been instances in the past where faulty valves caused the water in the hydrogen water seal to rise up to the main hydrogen pipeline
