Regarding whether to install an erosion basket at the inlet of the current reformation pre-hydrogenation reactor, there are two opinions: some say it is beneficial to install one, while others believe it is not. Catalyst manufacturers claim that an erosion basket can only filter out mechanical impurities and cannot address the issue of carbon deposition. Please share your views – is it better to install such a basket or not? Why?
According to the design, it is better to add scale-inhibiting agent No. Blue. Reason 1: It effectively prevents the deposition of metals and other impurities. Reason 2: It safeguards against the impact of changes in feed volume on the catalyst
If reciprocating machines are used, it is recommended to install filters (that can be switched and cleaned) at the inlet of each unit; these filters can effectively remove mechanical impurities from the pipelines, thereby **extending the lifespan of air valves and piston seals (especially after major repairs), and they also have a certain liquid removal effect.

Our previous check showed that the accumulation of scale was significantly reduced when it was added, as compared to when it wasn’t added; this time, the check was not caused by a differential pressure at the hydrogenation reaction inlet, but rather by an increase in the differential pressure across the heat exchanger. Judging from the angle of the head, almost all of the carbon deposits are located in the area marked as \"deposits blue\", while the protective coating and catalyst are in good condition.
