When the tank is about to be filled, some of the liquid flows out through the overflow pipe. The owner requests that the amount of overflow be measured using a flow meter. What kind of meter do you all use for this purpose? In chemical processing units, instruments used for measuring flow rate generally require the medium to fill the pipeline; however, the medium flowing out of the overflow pipe cannot initially fill the pipeline, resulting in inaccurate measurement values. I am seeking advice from experts – it’s urgent, and the sooner the better. Thank you!
It’s an unreasonable request; do not use a level switch or level transmitter with an alarm for tank overflow protection

The overflow pipe can be designed with a U-shaped bend, with the surface located below the bend; wouldn’t that ensure that the medium fills the entire pipe?

Add a buffer tank to the U-tube, and select an appropriate flow meter

Reply to 1# Plum Blossom Fragrance: It might be a good idea to try making a U-shaped bend and installing the flow meter at the bottom of that bend, so as to ensure that the pipe is always full. This is just my personal opinion, for your reference.
