Origin of 819 and 4095 in the TRICON system

This post was last edited by oatobnus on 2011-2-17 09:24. In the TRICON system, the 4–20 ma signals correspond to the integer values 819 and 4095; 4095 is obtained by subtracting 1 from 2 to the power of 12. So how is 819 calculated?
What is 2 to the power of 12?
It must be a mistake; 0~20mA corresponds to the integer values 0~4095, and 4mA corresponds to 819

The analog input is a 12-bit AD converter, meaning the conversion accuracy is 2 to the power of 12. 0-4095 corresponds to 0-20mA; using 4095/20 and then multiplying by 4 gives 819. Therefore, 4-20mA corresponds to 819-4095

All PLCs are like this; Siemens’ models range from 3200 to 64000, while Black Horse’s models range from 745 to 3700
It is essentially the conversion between 0 to 2 raised to the power of 12 and 0 to 20 MA. The specific precision varies among different controllers.
