I have a question: are there valves available with a convex surface (M)? The flange at the upper end of the equipment has a concave surface (FM). How should the sealing surfaces be matched in this case? I checked with valve manufacturers, and they generally produce valves with FM sealing surfaces; I’m not sure whether it’s possible to manufacture valves with M surfaces so that they can be connected directly to the equipment’s pipe ends
It’s possible. You can specify it in the contract with the manufacturer. However, you need to provide the flange standard, pressure rating, and nominal diameter
Provide the flange standard, pressure rating, and nominal diameter. If it’s for use with M threads, that’s fine; however, most valves use FM or RF flanges, as those are commonly used for flanges attached to equipment. The configuration of the valve is similar in this case
The equipment used by manufacturers to produce convex flanges is absolutely reliable; most flanges are made concave in order to prevent damage to the sealing surfaces during transportation and storage. You can contact the manufacturer to order custom ones or submit a request

The sealing surface format for the valve body is generally convex (MFM); the sealing surface format for the flange is concave (MFF)
