The effect of inward and outward extension of the takeover on reinforcement

When calculating the takeover reinforcement, enter the length of the takeover extension. It is unknown what effect the inward extension length has on reinforcement. What is the impact of the protrusion length? It seems that the inward extension has no effect on the calculated strength since length does not influence it in the calculations.
Who says there’s no impact? There is an effective length for calculating the outward projection; you can refer to GB150 for this. You can also use SW6 to recalculate the outward projection for various values of 0.3 mm, 5 mm, 10 mm, and you will find that there is an effective length associated with the outward projection as well. Only, this effective length is much shorter than the one applicable to inward projections
The overhang length has an impact on reinforcement; if the calculation shows insufficient reinforcement, the overhang length can be adjusted accordingly.
Both the internal and external extension lengths of the splice have an impact on opening reinforcement; a larger internal extension length is beneficial for reinforcement, while a larger external extension length is not.
