This technology is already widely used abroad, but not in China due to oil monopolies. DMC is primarily produced by companies other than Sinopec, whereas MTBE comes from Sinopec’s own refinery waste gases; the reason for this is self-evident. It will take at least another 5 years before this technology can be applied in this industry; as prices and costs decrease, it will also become a large market in the solvent industry
