For the professional qualification exam, one must first take the basic exam; only after passing that can they take the professional exam. The basic exam can be taken right after graduation, but not the professional exam – one has to wait five years after graduating from undergraduate studies before taking it. Yes, after passing the basic examination, those who are pursuing a master’s degree in this field must have worked in chemical engineering design for a total of 3 years after obtaining their master’s degree before they can take the specialized examination； If a similar master’s degree in a related field is obtained, one must have worked in chemical engineering design for a total of 4 years after obtaining the degree before being eligible to take the professional exam.
