How to carry out major overhauls on domestically produced 10-year-old air separation equipment?
This post was last edited by dhb427 on 2011-2-26 21:38. Let’s ask one thing first: why the major repair? Is it repair to address existing unresolved issues, or preventive maintenance upon reaching the deadline?
For equipment that has been in use for 10 years, in addition to the regular major maintenance tasks, it is recommended to carry out the following actions: 1. Open the inlet of the main condensation evaporator and clean out the dust inside; use high-pressure air hoses to manually blow out each plate channel (make sure there is adequate ventilation and wear a dust mask). If possible, use chemical agents for cleaning; 2. Measure the wall thickness of pipes and equipment, record it for archiving, and replace those that need to be replaced promptly ; 3. Replace the insulation material based on its usage status and physical properties ; 4. Inspect the rotor of mechanical equipment for scale buildup; determine whether cleaning is necessary based on the situation, and perform dynamic balancing after cleaning. For now, these are my thoughts; I hope everyone can add to them.
Our equipment is also 10 years old, and it has just completed a major overhaul. In my opinion, such overhauls should be targeted – by using data from normal operating conditions to identify potential problems with the equipment, so that appropriate measures can be taken. There is no universal standard to follow; one thing to note is that first, those issues that require shutdown for repair must be addressed
There’s so much that needs to be repaired after a decade of use. Moving equipment is somewhat manageable, but the stationary equipment is a real hassle; things like replacing the bundles in coolers are extremely troublesome
