The liquid transported by the shielded pump contains a small amount of silicon powder. As we know, silicon powder is very fine; it’s not clear what size of filter mesh would be necessary to ensure the pump can operate for a long period of time

The number of mesh holes before the pump is generally 144–256 holes/cm2, as specified in the product data for the pump and nozzle. The maximum number of pores can reach 400 pores/cm2. It is best to separate the silicon powder before feeding it into the shielded pump. It will wear down the graphite sleeve.
The bearings of shielded pumps are made of SiC, which provides wear resistance. The filter at the pump inlet is usually 40-mesh. For the selection of shielded pumps, an option with an external sealant tank can be chosen.
