FDT is a protocol, the structural protocol for smart meter devices, referring to GBT29618. EDDL is a device description file that complies with the FDT protocol. The FDT platform is the application platform within the FDT protocol; it is typically provided by suppliers of DCS and SCADA systems, and is used to manage instrument devices that comply with the FDT protocol. Today, transmitters with high reliability generally comply with the FDT protocol and are also standard instrumentation devices. Correspondingly, the FDT protocol is widely used in foreign equipment, and such equipment is usually quite expensive.
