Seamless gas cylinders are required to be retired after 30 years of use. For those whose last inspection cycle has exceeded 30 years, it is unclear whether they should be retired earlier, at the end of 30 years, or only after the completion of their final inspection period.
Theoretically, they should be scrapped after 30 years of use, but in practice, many seamless gas cylinders that have been in use for 40 years are still in use.
