Please advise on the key operating points of plate and frame filter presses

Our company uses plate and frame filter presses for desulfurization; during the discharge process, the flow rate from the foam pump is unstable. It works fine at first, but later on the pump’s flow rate often drops, and each discharge process takes more than two hours. We also observed that it is caused by an excessive amount of foam in the material; however, we’ve tried various methods but still couldn’t resolve the aforementioned issue. I would like to ask everyone if there are any good methods to solve the above problem. Thank you!
Ensure frequent discharging, reducing the interval between each discharge of sulfur foam; inject the sulfur foam into the plate and frame filter press in one go, and keep compressed air flowing to ensure that the sulfur paste on the filter cake dries thoroughly. When discharging, remove all the material from each layer of filter cloth. Replace the filter cloth regularly (e.g., every six months); the removed cloth should be thoroughly washed before being set aside for future use.
