When installing a pump, are tees added to both the inlet and outlet to prevent cavitation?
The reduction fittings at the pump’s inlet and outlet are used to lower the flow velocity of the fluid. For the pump inlet, a reduced flow velocity helps to minimize cavitation, while at the pump outlet it has no effect on cavitation; its purpose is purely to reduce resistance.

To prevent cavitation, the suction pipe must absolutely be free of V-shaped air pockets. Installation direction of the eccentric reducer at the inlet: it should be horizontal, or when suction is taken from below, the slanted side of the reducer should be on the lower side (with the top flat). When the pump draws in fluid from below and the suction pipe is vertical, the slanted side of the reducer should face upward (with the bottom flat), which also helps to prevent the accumulation of impurities at the inlet.

Imported male and female fittings are used to prevent cavitation; the outlet does not serve this purpose.
Whether to install tees on the pump is determined through pipeline calculations; generally, the diameter of the inlet pipeline should be larger than that of the pump’s inlet in order to reduce pressure losses and prevent cavitation at the pump inlet.
