What do IN-LINE and ON-LINE mean respectively in the instrument construction drawing specifications?
Whether it is OFF-LINE – it should be a distinction between online instruments and offline instruments
Gauge pressure transmitters are of the ON-LINE type, while control valves are of the IN-LINE type; now it makes sense, right? Let’s differentiate them
If we ignore the measuring instruments, and consider just these two terms, one is inside a tube and the other is also in a tube. If you are referring to an online analyzer, you can simply call it an online one. The meaning is basically the same; it’s just that some researchers are so weird that they insist on determining whether the instrument is in an upper position or an internal position.

Online and in-line refer to the way in which instruments are installed on pipelines. Generally, valves, flowmeters, etc. are installed in-line, while pressure sensors, RTDs, etc. are installed online
There are also insert-type flowmeters. Is it online then?
