Seeking advice on the application of DCS control in silicone rubber

I currently work in a chemical plant in the field of automatic control, dealing with silicone rubber products from the silicone series, such as types 901 and 902... As a newcomer, I would like to know whether a DCS system is required for controlling this product line If necessary, in which stages of the production process can it be used, and where is DCS control required? I hope the experts here will kindly share their insights! Thank you so much!

Dizzy. As long as it is a production process where automatic control is needed, a DCS system can be used. This needs to be decided by your company based on the actual situation; if the system is relatively simple, PID control or PLC control could be considered.
There are complex and simple aspects in terms of DCS control; the key question is whether you need a high level of automation or a low one. High level of automation: from feeding to the final product, everything is controlled by DCS. It’s just that the cost is high.
