After the liquid phase material is emptied, open the vent valve on the tank top to vent the gas phase. The butadiene pump leaked and caught fire; the pump was shut down, the upstream and downstream valves were closed, pressure was relieved through a flare valve, and the fire was extinguished using dry powder fire extinguishers, fire monitors, and fire hydrants. 3) Additional notes on potential accidents in this unit: In the event of a leak and fire at the flange of the flow meter, stop feeding material. The personnel on duty should use on-site fire extinguishers, fire hoses, and fire hydrants to put out the fire. After the fire is extinguished, use fire hoses and fire hydrants for protection while contacting someone to secure the leaking area; if it is not possible to secure it, a special handling plan should be developed and followed. Leaks at welds, flanges, and valves on the process pipelines, as well as leaks at the connections of auxiliary devices such as Bourdon tube pressure gauges, require that the valves at both ends of the pipeline be closed in order to cut off the flow and control the source of the leak.
