Do cement companies have a dedicated instrumentation department, and is the amount of work required for instrument maintenance high?
There definitely are. At least when the cement leaves the factory, there has to be a larger scale used to weigh the cement that is sold. The department responsible for that scale is the Measurement Instruments Department. This is extremely important for cement plants. It doesn’t matter if the instruments in other places don’t work; the instruments here must work properly.
Flow meters for the cement plant’s slurry plates, temperature and pressure sensors in the preheating towers, main control display instruments, weighing displays, high-precision raw material dosing systems – all these are instrumentation devices. In addition, there are also equipment such as automatic control systems for rotary kilns, DC speed control systems, and frequency converters. Instrumentation automation control equipment, as well as high and low voltage electrical equipment, are also widely used.
