Gentlemen, my factory has just received a new batch of orders related to flanges. For coating these flanges, non-conductive epoxy primers and topcoats should be used, with a dry film thickness of over 800μm. The leak detection voltage is 4000V. I would like to ask whether installing nameplates after applying the paint will damage the anti-static coating layer How should I fix the nameplate to the flange? It’s a rather basic question – I’m new to this field, so I humbly ask for some guidance from those with more experience
The dry film thickness of the coating is >=800um – how thick is that? Is the adhesion good? It is recommended to nail the nameplate first and make temporary markings; after completion, apply the contents of the nameplate or the product number onto the surface of the flange, or attach a moisture-resistant label for easy identification! Personal opinion!
I don’t think it’s very good either. Once it’s ordered, there will be no protection against static electricity in that area. It would be possible to stamp marks on the flange before spraying as a substitute for a nameplate, but I’m not sure if that would work for you guys
Can I stick the nameplate on with glue after painting?
I’m suddenly confused. What is the purpose of applying non-conductive paint? What about antistatic properties then? I earnestly request an answer
