As the title suggests, this is our first major overhaul here, and we lack experience in such matters. Some managers want the tower to be cleaned of wax – I’m not sure if that’s necessary
During a major overhaul, there are many tasks to carry out: checking the condition of the components inside the tower, examining the heat exchangers, eliminating leaks in the system, modifying areas of the process that need optimization, cleaning the heat exchangers, replacing valves, calibrating instruments and displays, and much more
Condition of tower internals, condition of heat exchangers, elimination of leaks in the system, and modifications to areas that require optimization in normal operation
1. Add alkali to the feed in the towers, and perform alkali washing in each distillation tower; 2. Inspection of tower internals ; 3. Clean the bottom of the storage tank ; 4. Leak repair and cleaning of heat exchangers ; 5. Some pipeline technical upgrades and leak repairs, which account for a large proportion ; 6. Inspection of pressure vessels and pipelines.
What was said on the 4th floor is correct! But then again, since it’s your first major overhaul, the operational time should not be long; there’s no need to boil the tower. We’ve been in operation for over a year now, and we haven’t boiled the tower during any of the major overhauls, because it’s really not necessary!
Have you checked the distillation tower? What are the main items to inspect inside the tower?
