Should an air compressor station be equipped with smoke detectors for fire alarm purposes and evacuation signs?

As the title suggests, when the design was first created, probes and evacuation indicators were not included, but the person in charge of verification said they are necessary. Is there any basis for this? Very small (7.5mx15m, in normal conditions)
I’m also very curious to know if it needs to be set up The air compressor station contains a power distribution room and a control room, but I think they are quite small in size; since it’s a separate building, there’s probably no need to have them.
