I had no prior experience with boilers, but due to work requirements, I have a few questions for everyone. Our boiler room is planning to install two new boilers; I’ve been in touch with the municipal natural gas company these past few days. The other party asked me to fill out a form: there is a field in it where I need to enter the maximum gas consumption per boiler (in m3/h) as well as the rated gas pressure (in kPa). But the manual for the boiler I’m getting says: Model CZI-1000GS (gas-type) ； Boiler type: multi-tube cross-flow boiler ； Maximum pressure 1.0Mpa ； Rated evaporation rate: 1,183 (kg/h); actual evaporation rate: 1,000 (kg/h) ； Gas consumption: Natural gas 77.0 m3N/h, LPG: 25.90 m3N/h, 59.1 kg/h. What I would like to ask is: My form isn’t filled out in this way – the maximum gas consumption is listed as 77.0 m3/h (but what does 77.0 m3N/h mean in the manual? Does N refer to standard conditions?). Should the rated gas pressure be filled in as 1.0 MPa? Another question is: What does LPG mean? (Does it refer to liquefied petroleum gas?) Our headquarters says it are two 1-ton oil-gas dual-use boilers (does this 1 ton refer to an actual evaporation rate of 1000 kg/h?). Our boiler is imported from Japan. Thank you!
It’s Miura’s boiler, right? We have clients who use it here. The burner and furnace of the Miura boiler are integrated, and the required inlet air pressure is generally 0.1 MPa. The maximum gas consumption for a 1-ton steam boiler is approximately 120 cubic meters of natural gas. LPG stands for liquefied petroleum gas.
Well, this is Miura’s boiler. But the municipal gas company asked me to fill in the maximum natural gas consumption, and I don’t know what figure to use. The manual does not specify the gas consumption rate: it states 77.0 m3 N/h for natural gas, so why is it 120? Isn’t the air pressure 1.0 MPa? Why is it 0.1?
The pressure in municipal gas pipelines isn’t even 1.0 MPa, haha! A gas supply pressure of just 0.1 MPa is sufficient for the burner. That Miura boiler wasn’t imported from Japan; it was produced in the Suzhou Industrial Park. Take a close look at that form to see whether it asks you to enter the maximum daily gas consumption or the maximum hourly gas consumption.

The manual doesn’t specify the rated gas pressure, does it?
