GB150 stipulates that when conducting hydraulic tests on steel containers such as carbon steel, the liquid temperature must not be lower than 5 ℃; For other low-alloy steel containers, the liquid temperature during hydrostatic testing must not be lower than 15 °C. Why is such a rule in place? And how is the ambient temperature determined? The water temperature can be heated to that level in winter; how is the ambient temperature calculated? Also, during the airtightness tests for new container regulations, safety accessories are generally required to be installed – what is the purpose of this? What exactly are the safety accessories? Are there also issues with the verification of safety accessories? Is a verification certificate required?
1. That temperature is determined based on the fact that the test temperature should be 30 degrees higher than the temperature at which the metal of the equipment loses its ductility. The new regulations have changed the term “test liquid temperature” to “test temperature”; it is likely that similar changes will be made in the new regulations for 150 as well. 2. The airtightness test is used to check the integrity of the equipment under its designed pressure, while installing safety accessories serves to determine whether there are any leakage points in those accessories under the same pressure. The questions regarding the airtightness test mainly concern the requirements set by the manufacturing unit. As for the safety accessories, I believe they are primarily intended to regulate the using unit; but do the manufacturing unit’s specific requirements also need to be so strict? The manufacturing company is in for a tough time
The safety accessories installed on the equipment by the manufacturer must also come with certification after passing inspection; if no inspection is carried out, how can the user unit conduct regular inspections?
1. To be honest, ordinary manufacturing plants probably won’t stick strictly to this temperature; otherwise, would they have to heat water just to test hydraulics in the winters of the north! ! 2. The inclusion of safety accessories on the airtight seals is, as I understand it, for safety reasons – since gas-related tests are generally quite dangerous – and also to ensure the sealing quality of those safety accessories!
