I have this question too. However, not all polymerization reactors can be tested with water; some materials cannot come into contact with water. Fortunately, our polymerization reactor has a vacuum system; if the vacuum cannot be established after sealing it, we will check each component individually, including the valve at the bottom of the reactor.

We have never encountered this situation, because whether it is an internal leak or an external leak, vacuum pumping can detect it. Is it possible to apply pressure or create a vacuum inside the bottom valve and the pipes downstream?

The common methods for leak detection are pressurization and depressurization; depending on the situation, liquids or gases can be used. If none of these are available, then it relies solely on experience, such as observing the liquid level or changes in flow rate in the pipeline behind the bottom valve.
