I know that the vapor pressure decreases due to the solute, but why does a decrease in vapor pressure lead to an increase in boiling point?
Is it true that it is the solvent that evaporates, causing the solute concentration to increase and thus the boiling point to rise?

Boiling occurs in a liquid when its vapor pressure equals the external pressure. When a solution contains solutes, the vapor pressure of the solvent decreases; therefore, to reach boiling point, the temperature must be raised to increase the vapor pressure of the solvent.
